Brazilian wax in Woodland Hills at Bare Skin & Wax

Your First Brazilian Wax: What to Expect (From a Woodland Hills Esthetician)

Nervous about your first Brazilian wax? Totally normal. I've been doing this for over 20 years, so let me walk you through exactly what happens. No surprises, no judgment.

Before your appointment

  • Let your hair grow out to about the length of a grain of rice
  • Don't shave in between, it makes the wax less effective
  • Gently exfoliate a day or two before
  • Skip retinol or strong exfoliating products on the area
  • Come as you are. Trust me, I've seen it all

During your wax

I work fast and clean. Once you're on the table, a Brazilian wax only takes a few minutes. Honestly, the anticipation is what makes it scary for everyone. I'll walk you through each step so you always know what's coming. The first one is uncomfortable, and it gets easier over time. We go at your pace. There's no rush.

After your wax

  • Skip hot tubs, saunas, workouts and tight pants for 24 to 48 hours
  • Start gentle exfoliating a few days later to prevent ingrown hairs
  • Ask me about post-wax care products to keep your skin smooth

How often should you come back?

Every 4 to 6 weeks keeps you on track. Stay consistent and your hair can grow back finer and sparser over time.

Good to know

Please give 48 hours notice if you need to cancel. You can read all my policies here.
